Iddo Dror
Director of Operations, Micro Insurance Academy, Delhi, India
IHTTI was a great learning and personal growth experience, with lots of good times along the way.
Iddo Dror has worked in both for-profit and not-for-profit sectors in assignments spanning four continents. He is currently Director of Operations at the Micro Insurance Academy (MIA), a not-for-profit organization he helped create in India. He is also an IHTTI graduate.
“Having travelled the world and worked in various hospitality related positions, I returned to Switzerland to pursue my passion for tourism on the one hand and international organizations on the other,” explains Iddo. He earned an MBA and a PhD in Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Geneva, and also worked for the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNTAD).
In 2007 he formed the MIA, the first institution dedicated to training community-based micro health insurance schemes in insurance domain knowledge. He is responsible for the strategic development and expansion of the organization, as well as overseeing its operational units. He is also a frequent speaker and consultant to international agencies and NGO’s on international trade in tourism services, management and development issues.
Iddo’s advice to future IHTTI students: “Always do what you love and love what you do – it’ll show!”
